Technology in A.A.

TECHNOLOGY IN ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS – click here for the TIAA Forum

The purpose of the TIAA – to share experiencem strength and hope in using technology to carry AA’s message of recovery in this modern age, not to focus on technology per se. While the number of alcoholics has grown dramatically over the past century, AA membership has remained flat at 1.9 million worldwide (see GSO phamlet SMF 132. https://www.aa.org/estimated-worldwide-aa-individual-and-group-membership)

How It(TIAA) Works – covering everything from obtaining login credentials/user ID, to how to search for information, ask questions relevant to your needs, and contribute your own information for the greater good. Even those familiar with TIAA may not be aware of improvements such as the addition of a Chat feature. The new Chat feature, unlike standard texting from one phone to another, is a safe and secure way to communicate in real time, from one AA member to others. For example, it is a convenient way to communicate anonymously during Assemblies, Area/District, Intergroup/Central Office meetings, and workshops.
