Archives

The mission of Archives is:

1. To preserve the A.A. message and carry it to other alcoholics.

2. To preserve the history of our fellowships to prevent distortion.

3. To cooperate with and support other A.A. Archives.

The Northern California Archives Committee is supported financially by the Northern California Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous and by local contributions. In keeping with Tradition 7, we do not accept contributions from foundations, educational grants, or other sources outside A.A. Thanks.

“It is by the collection and sharing of these important historical elements that our collective gratitude for Alcoholics Anonymous is deepened.” -quoted from GSO.

Like any other A.A. service, the primary purpose of those involved in archival work is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous. Archives service work is more than mere custodial activity; it is the means by which we collect, preserve, and share the rich and meaningful heritage of our Fellowship.

Intergroup has an Archives position with a two-year sobriety requirement. The position collects members stories with 25+ years of sobriety and archives them.
